What is Moodle?
The word "Moodle" was originally an acronym for Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment. Moodle is a Virtual Learning Environment (or VLE). VLE's are software that is designed to add to traditional learning methods in order to enhance the learning experience of the user. Moodle runs as an interactive website with a number of features and activities designed to engage learners and promote collaborative, student-centered learning. In short, it's a software package for producing Internet-based courses and web sites.
